Different number of Identity Awareness 'Authenticated Users' is reported on cluster members
Symptoms
  • Identity Awareness logs in SmartView Tracker show different number of 'Authenticated Users' on cluster members.

  • Output of 'cpstat identityServer -f authentication' command on cluster members shows different number of 'Authenticated Users [AD Query]'.

  • Identity Awareness logs in SmartView Tracker show the same user twice in the following scenario:

    1. User logs in on Member_A.
    2. Cluster failover occurs from Member_A to Member_B.
    3. User logs out from Member_A.
    4. Cluster failback occurs from Member_B to Member_A.
    5. User logs in on Member_A.
    6. User is now counted twice in Identity Awareness logs.
Cause

By design, ADlog runs only on one cluster member - regardless of the cluster configuration mode. In addition, there are no ADlog tables that can be synchronized between cluster members.
