HTTP Based SSO authentication fails to internal Web / Application servers if Single Sign On (SSO) is disabled in the application properties
Symptoms
  • HTTP Based SSO authentication fails to internal Web / Application servers:

    1. User tries to connect to an internal Web / Application server (protected by Mobile Access gateway)
    2. A browser-specific form (pop up) appears
      Example:
    3. User enters the credentials, but the authentication fails
  • When Single Sign On (SSO) is enabled in the application properties, the HTTP Based SSO authentication succeeds:

    1. SmartDashboard - go to 'Mobile Access' tab.
    2. On the left pane, open the 'Applications'.
    3. Open the 'File Shares' category.
    4. Double-click on the involved Mobile Access application.
    5. Open the 'Additional Settings' settings - click on 'Single Sign On'.
    6. Check the box 'Turn on Single Sign On for this application':
      Example:
    7. Click on 'OK' to apply the changes.
    8. Install the policy on the Mobile Access gateway.
  • Web Form (HTML) Based SSO authentication succeeds for the same user and for the same application.
