Symptoms
  • SmartUpdate does not allow to upload files to Check Point Service Requests that start with digit "5":

    1. Go to 'Tools' menu - click on 'Upload diagnostics (CPInfo) to Check Point' - select 'Upload files from this computer...'.
    2. Check the box 'SR Number'.
    3. If the SR Number start with "5" (e.g., 5-123456), then the 'OK' button stays greyed out.

Cause

SmartUpdate allows to upload files to CheckPoint Service Requests that start with 1-* or with 28-* only.


Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:

 

For lower supported versions, Check Point Support can supply a Hotfix - improved SmartConsole.
A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing the Hotfix.
For faster resolution and verification please collect the following:

  • CPinfo file from the Security Management Server involved in the case.
  • SmartUpdate build number (go to "Help" menu - click on "About...").
This solution has been verified for the specific scenario, described by the combination of Product, Version and Symptoms. It may not work in other scenarios.
