Poor performance on Unicast Load Sharing ClusterXL when using native/untagged VLANs Technical Level
  • Poor performance on Unicast Load Sharing ClusterXL cluster when using native/untagged VLANs.
  • Removing one member from the cluster resolves the issue.

Cluster members have a cluster VIP defined on a physical interface which also contains VLANs. From a networking perspective this will work as the connected switch is configured with a Native VLAN.

This configuration is not supported in ClusterXL.

From ClusterXL Administration Guide: "When defining VLAN tags on an interface, cluster IP addresses can be defined only on the VLAN interfaces (the tagged interfaces). Defining a cluster IP address on a physical interface that has VLANs is not supported. This physical interface has to be defined with the Network Objective Monitored Private."

Remove the native VLAN configuration and define the interface as VLAN tagged.
