How to check the current LOM firmware version on Check Point appliances Technical Level
Cause

Solution

There are several methods to check the LOM firmware version that is installed on the appliance:

Notes:

  • The User cannot check the sub versions of the LOM Card firmware in Gaia CLI, or LOM Card WebUI.
  • For confirmation of successful upgrade, the user can validate that the LOM firmware build time (time stamp) has been changed to a newer one.

By accessing the "Firmware version" section in LOM WebUI

To check installed firmware version, navigate to the applicable section in the LOM WebUI:

Appliances LOM WebUI instructions
6000,
7000,
16000,
26000,
28000,
TE2000XN,
QLS250,
QLS450,
QLS650,
QLS800
HTML-5 based LOM card:

From the left panel, click 'Home' -> in the 'LOM Information' section, refer to 'Firmware Version'

Go to the 'Maintenance' tab -> 'Device Information' section -> 'Firmware version'

By using the Gaia Clish commands

Use the "show lom" or "show asset lom-info" commands in Gaia Clish.

Examples:
> show lom
Firmware Revision: 3.32
    IP Address: 192.168.0.100
> show asset lom-info
LOM Status: Installed
    LOM Firmware Revision: 3.21

By using IPMI tool in Gaia OS command line

Important Note - The IPMI tool is not supported officially.

These LOM firmware versions support the IPMI tool:

  2. Login to Expert mode.

  3. Enable the ipmitool:

    [Expert@HostName]# service ipmi start

  4. Get the details about the installed LOM firmware:

    [Expert@HostName]# ipmitool bmc info
