How to Exclude Subfolders from Anti-Malware Blade scan on Endpoint Security Server

Abstract:

In order to exclude sub-folders from Anti-Malware Periodical and On-Access scan configuration, we should use a backslash after the folder's name.

For instance, in order to exclude all the subfolders from c:\1, we should use c:\1\

 

Step-by-step procedure:

  1. Connect with SmartEndpoint GUI to Endpoint Security Management Server.

  2. Go to 'Policy' tab.

  3. Navigate to the relevant Anti-Malware Rule.

  4. Exclude sub-folders from Anti-Malware scan:

    1. To exclude processes from On-Access scan

      1. Right-click on the Scan all files upon access rule - click on Edit Shared Action...:



      2. Click on Add... button (only full path to exe file can be specified in "Process path" column):  





    2. To exclude files from Periodical (Scheduled) scan

      1. Right-click on the Periodically scan... rule:



      2. At the bottom, click on Configure files and folders exclusions:



      3. Click on Add... button:



      4. Add the required path including backslash at the end.



  5. Go to File menu - click on Save.

  6. Go to File menu - click on Install Policy.

    There should be one policy waiting to be installed. In case more policies are waiting, we should verify wheteher they are needed.



  7. Verify that the Clients were updated with the new policy version:
